Import data from the CTDC
About the CTDC
The CTDC is part of the Cancer Research Data Commons (CRDC), an initiative from NCI’s Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT). The goals of the CTDC are to advance cancer research and accelerate the development of innovative therapies by improving access to data from NCI-sponsored clinical studies, including genomic panel assay and clinical data.
The process of importing files from the CTDC to the Cancer Genomics Cloud (CGC) consists of the following two stages:
- Downloading a manifest file from the CTDC website - see below.
- Importing files to the CGC based on the downloaded manifest file - see Import from a DRS server.
Downloading manifest files from the CTDC
Manifest files that are downloaded from the CTDC contain information about the data you want to import in the second stage of this process. The procedure below will describe one possible use case for defining filters and downloading the manifest.
To start, access the CTDC website and follow these steps:
- Define your query using filters that are available on the left-hand side.
- Click ADD FILES FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS.

- Click Files in the upper right corner.

-
Next, click DOWNLOAD FILE MANIFEST to continue.
The manifest file is downloaded to your computer. Please keep this file as it will be used in the following stage of the import process.
Import the manifest file to CGC
For further information on this part of the procedure, see Import from a DRS server.
