# Workflows and tools

The CGC offers a repository of publicly available apps (workflows and tools) suitable for many different types of data analysis.

## Overview

Apps include both **tools** (individual bioinformatics utilities) and **workflows** (chains or pipelines of connected tools). The publicly available apps are maintained by the CGC bioinformatics team to represent the latest tool versions.

They can be fully modified using the [tool editor](https://docs.cancergenomicscloud.org/docs/edit-a-tool) and the [workflow editor](https://docs.cancergenomicscloud.org/docs/the-pipeline-editor).

The CGC public apps are hosted in a gallery for you to locate them easily. Once you access the public apps gallery, you can:

1. [Search for a specific app](https://docs.cancergenomicscloud.org/docs/search-for-an-app).
2. Explore all apps.
3. View featured apps.

## Accessing Public Apps

To view the public apps gallery, click **Public Apps** in the top navigation bar and choose option "Workflows and Tools"..
